How can we create a unique hospitality experience by incorporating a media brand?

Set in the historic city of Tainan, the Netflix Hotel is imagined as more than accommodation: it combines lodging with Netflix-exclusive spaces such as a store, café, exhibition hall, and theaters. For fans, it offers an immersive brand experience; for travelers, it adds cultural value that may spark new connections to the platform. Blending hospitality and entertainment, the project proposes a new way to experience both Netflix and the city.

Site Context: Heart of the Old City

Centrally located in Tainan, the site sits near the main station, major historic landmarks, the Old Magistrate Residence, and a lively old street—making it an ideal hub for young tourists.

Massing Strategy

Massing & Program Strategy
To integrate with the old community, the ground floor is opened for the street to pass through, allowing free pedestrian flow. An elevated plaza extends public life to the second floor with outdoor spaces for dining and recreation, while the upper hotel rooms align in a linear order, echoing the surrounding fabric.

Vertical sunshades reduce heat gain, while red aluminum panels highlight the plug-in theaters and enliven the façade. At night, movie scenes projected onto the glass curtain wall turn the building itself into a screen for Netflix content.
